What We Do

Major Distractions.png

Craft Day: Be creative! We arrive at the hospital with all the craft materials you can imagine, a local artist and volunteers ready for fun. We encourage the patients and their siblings to make an item to decorate their hospital room, their IV pole or their room at home.

Crazy Car Day: A race track in the hospital family center! We cruise in with remote control cars for every inpatient warrior and the fun starts immediately. Cars wheezing along the track, children laughing and playing with each other. A welcome break from treatments.

Meals of Hope: Twice a month we host family luncheons in the hospital. Volunteers from several sports teams & other personalities help serve the meals and light up the eyes of their small fans.

Spa Day: Painting nails, face painting, and make-up for the whole family.

Sports Day Camp: A fun-packed day camp for childhood cancer warriors and their siblings 5-12 years old.

Teen Night: Fun activities for teen warriors.

Transforming Transplant Rooms:Decorating a plain hospital room into a transplant warrior’s dream room.

All gifts come in a distinctive lime green backpacks for our childhood cancer warriors for every step of their journey.

Comfycozy’s Care Packs: Contain a Comfycozy’s for Chemo apparel item and fun stuff like fuzzy socks, stuffed animals, activity books, toys, etc. to keep the children cozy and entertained.

Comfort Packs: The tissues in the hospital irritate the patients sensitive skin. Local children’s groups and elementary schools donate and decorate tissue boxes with inspirational sayings. Toiletries, socks, and stuffed animals are also included.

No More Chemo Party Bags: The last day of chemo is the time for a celebration! Our party bags contain a congratulations banner, cake mix, frosting, plates, napkins, silverware and a gift card for family celebration.
